My Top Closet Organization Tips
No matter how many clothes you have, cleaning your closet doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s all about tackling the project one step at a time.

Sorting Your Shoes
Let’s start by looking at the pile of shoes you have sitting in the bottom of your closet.
It might seem obvious, but one of the best ways to sort your shoes is in an over-the-door shoe hanger. It makes use of valuable vertical space and allows you to keep your floor clear.
But if you’d rather have them sitting side-by-side, a shoe rack is also a good option. Try to find one that can be adjusted (like the one above) so that you can make it larger or smaller depending on how many shoes you have sitting out.
Cleaning Up Your Clothing
Now for the clothes!
First things first. Ditch all of those bulky plastic hangers and buy thin ones instead. The hangers coated in a velvet-like material are best because it prevents your clothes from slipping off! You can also use cascading hangers or these super nifty space-saving drop hangers. That way, you can fit multiple jackets, dresses, and tops in a small space.
*Pro-tip: You can DIY your own by putting pop-tops over the metal hook of the hanger and using the other hole to hang another hanger.
And if you want to fold some items in your closet, a hanging cube organizer offers the perfect place to put everything.
Closet Organization Tricks For Accessories
If you like to keep accessories in your closet, I have a few tips to help you keep all of your things in order.
First is this hat organizer. You can mount it on the wall or hang it from a bar in your closet. And in addition to hanging your hats, you can also hang belts and ties!
How neat is this bag holder? It hangs in your closet with your clothes and keeps your purses from getting all smashed.
If you have shelves in your closet, make the most of your space by using bins and baskets. This canvas basket from Target is perfect for cold-weather gear, socks, hats, and more.
But if you do opt for bins, I find it helpful to label them!
You can also store jewelry in your closet if your jewelry box is full.
I like this hanging organizer because it doesn’t take up a lot of space and it can hold everything from my earrings to my necklaces.
Storing Away Your Wardrobe
If you keep all of your summer clothes in your closet during the winter months, it’s going to be much harder to keep everything looking clean.
So, stow things away that you’re not using at the moment!
One of the best ways to do this is by putting your clothes or shoes under the bed in one of these clear organizers.
I like that there are wheels on the bottom of it too—making it simple to pull it out when you need it.
And if you’re short on space, these vacuum storage bags will definitely come in handy.
After placing your clothing or linens inside, suck out the air and you’ll have 3x more space to work with.
See? Not all that complicated! Hopefully, these closet organization tips will help you clean up your wardrobe.
