I’ve always loved holiday traditions. And one of my favorites is the Advent calendar.

Did you know the very first Advent calendar was created in the mid-1800s? The practice was originally started in Germany, but now people around the globe count down the days until Christmas in the same way.

But what’s not the same? Today, there are a variety of calendars on the market — many of which are different than the classic ones you may have grown up with.
