Ingredients for pepperoni pizza dip by jill bauer

One of my favorite things about making this cheesy pepperoni pizza dip is that the ingredients are so simple.  In fact, I usually have most of these ingredients on hand, so when the need for the perfect appetizer arises, this dip of cheesy goodness is usually at the top of the list!

All you need for this dip are room-temperature cream cheese, sour cream, parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce and some Italian seasoning spices, including oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, garlic powder and parsley.

After mixing everything together you spread the mixture into a pie plate (or a similar baking dish) and top with pizza sauce or marinara sauce, a blend of cheeses, and pepperoni.

If you want to add things like green bell peppers or black olives, you certainly can.  My family tends to be straight-up pepperoni, so that’s how I usually make this irresistible dip.  After baking in the oven for about 25 minutes, the cream cheese layer and the cheeses get all melty, the crispy pepperoni on top sizzles, and you’re ready to serve!

Maybe the hardest thing about this easy pizza dip recipe is deciding what you want serve for dipping.  I like using baguette slices.   I usually slice the baguette, lightly butter and sprinkle with some garlic salt and then bake in the oven for about 10 minutes to get the bread a bit crunchy.

You can also use bagel chips, pita chips, corn chips or even tortilla chips.  If you really want an authentic pizza experience, try making a homemade pizza crust or using pizza dough balls and turning them into mini breadsticks for dipping.  Just imagine, warm, fresh baked breadsticks to dunk into this gooey cheese pepperoni pizza dip recipe….pizza fans will go wild!
