My Home Upgrades

I couldn’t be happier with this tile! I don’t think you can ever go wrong with subway tile, but this looks so much more modern because the tiles are longer, are a smidge irregular around the edges, and I love the soft nuances of color.
I used white, and you can see 4 variations of that, including one that is really a soft gray. It was perfect with the Cambria countertop I selected, which is called Everleigh.

We brought a lot of our furniture from our previous home to our new place. But I didn’t want this house to feel like a copy of what we had before. So I changed up the accent colors I used with our navy couch and leaned into light blues and whites.
This rug seemed to fit the bill online, and I was thrilled at how it looked in person. Very well made and as you can see… a favorite spot of Kelce already!

To tie in the look of the new rug with the couch, I added new pillow covers to bring it all together. Such an easy way to rejuvenate the look of a room and older furniture. We’ve had this couch for 10 years, and it feels so updated with a new color palette.

I learned a long time ago that not all kitchen faucets are created equal. It’s one of the most-used items in the kitchen, so quality matters. That’s really how I determine where I spend vs. where I save. I loved the simplicity of this Kohler faucet (ours is the vibrant stainless), the pull-down feature is great, and it doesn’t clutter the countertop, which is also an island with seating.

If you’ve dreamed of having SOMETHING Mackenzie Childs in your home, please check out this 2-piece cutting board set for your kitchen! I’m more of a Mackenzie Childs MINIMALIST (meaning I like a piece here or there), and I’m in love with these in our kitchen.
They both come in handy for so many things… I use the smaller size as a spoon rest next to the stove, while the larger size is great for serving, as a drying rack for hand-washed dishes, or as a trivet. And yes, of course, it’s a cutting board too (and since it’s tempered glass, it’s easy to keep clean!)

THE BEST DUPE!! A lot of you asked me about our kitchen light capiz shell chandelier, but it is no longer available from the retailer where I originally made my purchase.
I couldn’t believe I found this version at Wayfair! It’s near identical, and I love the choice of sizes (I actually wish the shorter version had been available when I bought mine!) You’ll never be sorry to see that glow!

I guess if I had 1 major design tip to share, it would be to find ways to tie rooms together in small, subtle ways. This small capiz accent light is perfect here, but it also nods to the capiz chandelier I shared earlier, which is in the kitchen adjacent to this space. These thoughtfully coordinated looks don’t make your home look matchy-matchy… instead, it gives a curated, designed vibe.

We just replaced the front door of the house, and I want to do a layered look of front door mats. I just ordered this one… seemed like a great coastal welcome and of course, it has my signature blue and white!

I think I’m going to use this style UNDER the fish mat at the front door. I really like that layered look, and while I’ve done that indoors, it never really occurred to me outdoors! But I’m not gonna lie… I like this so much, I also ordered a runner for the hallway. I’m completely charmed by scalloped-edge anything!
Get the Look for Less
I got inspiration for the look I wanted for this home from a lot of different places. I do admire the aesthetic of Serena and Lily… just beautiful simplicity. But those looks can be pricey, so here are a few “dupes” I found that can give you that look for less!

Bring that cafe look home with these two-tone weave chairs! They have a sturdy rattan frame and a comfortable backrest that’s perfect for resting. They’re also breathable—making them ideal for the warmer months.

This scalloped round rattan tray is ideal for any coffee table and effortlessly chic. The timeless look will never go out of style, and it’s the perfect catch-all for remotes and other living room items.

I also adore this scalloped rattan end table. The coolest part? It has an open design for optimal storage and a removable tabletop.

This minimalist scalloped rattan wall mirror is a classic, but it’s also sure to elevate your space. I just love the scalloped edge, and I think it adds a real upgrade to your classic mirror.

I love how a rug can totally transform a space, and this hand-tufted wool pile striped style is no different! The stripes are classic, and it comes in plenty of sizes.

Whether you’re going for a farmhouse look or a rustic decor style, this carved wood bowl is an essential. It’s made with swirled wood, and shoppers love that it’s “great” for holding keys and more.

You may have a rug for your main area, but do you have one for your bathroom? This cotton bath rug is absorbent, rich-looking, and super cozy.

Don’t you love this 3-piece quilt set? It’s reversible, and the cool feel makes it just perfect for spring and summer.
