I have dessert at least once a week. Okay, maybe twice or three times if I’m being honest… With my sweet tooth, I can’t help it!
Sometimes I go for cookies and other times I go for cake. And If I’m really in the mood for something indulgent, I’ll whip up my Historic Maine Inn Pecan Pie.
But if there’s a sweet treat I enjoy no matter the season or weather, I’m always down for an apple dessert. Think about it, the fruit is so versatile! Not only does an apple make a great mid-day treat, but it can be baked into almost anything and everything.
I have brownies, pies, cakes and more… and they all include apples! They’re universally loved, too. So no matter what apple dessert recipes I make, I know they’ll be a hit.
If you haven’t tried my favorite apple-themed recipes, you’ll have to try them soon. And look how convenient this is… you can find them below!
Apple Dessert Recipes To Make At Home
The Best Apple Pie
Apple Pie is a timeless American treat. And this recipe? It really takes taste and texture to a whole new level.
So this apple dessert recipe is a little unique. While it may look the same as any other apple crumble pie, it actually includes sour cream. Yes, SOUR CREAM! Between the spiced, creamy filling and the buttery flavor, it will take your tastebuds on a journey.
Oh, and it’s topped with a crunchy crown of streusel topping. Delish!
HERE is how you make it.
Cranberry Apple Bake
You can never go wrong with a two-fruit dessert. Right? And apples and cranberries make the perfect pair!
This one actually started as a Thanksgiving side dish, but now I make it year-round. My husband Doug loves it and never complains when he sees the bake on the counter!
It terrifically complements roasted chicken and baked pork chops, but it’s just as great topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert!
To make it, you can find the recipe HERE.
Apple Brownies
This is one of my favorite fall recipes, but I promise you, they’re great no matter what season it is!
I first tried them when I was working as a weekend anchor in West Lafayette, Indiana. When I wasn’t at WLFI-TV18, I worked with my friend in her petite bakery.
These apple brownies were a bestseller and I often went home with a couple of my own. And while the bakery job didn’t last long-term, I walked away with the recipe and I continue to make them today!
Don’t hesitate on this one, find the recipe HERE.
Harvest Apple Cake
Three words. Cream cheese frosting. If that doesn’t catch your attention I don’t know what will!
This is my Harvest Apple Bake and it includes hints of cinnamon and shredded apple throughout. It’s one of my mom’s favorites too… she actually requested it for her birthday last year!
I like to use Gala apples since they’re extra sweet, but any type of baking apple will do. I also include some chopped nuts because they add texture and crunch, but you can easily leave them out if you want the creamy cake to melt in your mouth!
Want to try it yourself? HERE is the recipe.
Apple Cider Donut Cake
This apple cider donut cake is my newest apple recipe and I’m SO very glad I decided to make it!
It features all the deliciousness of an apple cider donut, and the cake is incredibly moist.
Now I can’t highlight this cake without pointing out the topping… buttery cinnamon sugar. Who doesn’t love that?!
If you want to make it too, you can find the recipe HERE.
No matter which one of my apple dessert recipes you make, I can promise you it will be tasty. And if you’re in need of a new pie dish, you can find some beautiful ones below!
