I wouldn’t consider myself a huge coffee person, but I like to enjoy an occasional cup of coffee in the morning. There’s just something about a piping hot cup of joe that sets the mood for my entire day.
While I don’t reach for a mug as soon as the sun rises, I completely understand why people find it just as normal as brushing their teeth when they wake up! I prefer mine brewed with a frothy foam topping, but some people get super creative with unique coffee recipes.
So whether you’re a cream and sugar person or one that drinks it black, there’s really no single way you can enjoy your morning brew.
Today is National Coffee Day! This means there’s an entire day to celebrate the drink that oils the gears of early-morning commuters, the cup that brings people together, and the brew that even sparks some debate (iced or hot?).
So to properly enjoy the day, I’m sharing some of the best coffee recipes on the web in addition to a few products that will help you bring the coffee shop to your own kitchen.

Best Coffee Recipes
With all of the coffee recipes out there, it’s hard to cover them all. But I hope you’ll be able to enjoy some of these!
Americano
You know the name, but what is this popular drink? An Americano is a drink made with water and espresso—that’s it!
To nail this recipe, finely grind coffee beans (about 14-18 grams), brew them in an espresso machine, and mix one part espresso to two parts water.
If you’re in need of an espresso machine, I highly recommend the Nespresso brand! I have the Aeroccino but they have multiple models that are designed to fit your brewing needs.
Easy Brown Sugar Iced Coffee
This autumn-inspired drink sounds absolutely delicious. It’s also perfect for those wanting to make the transition to fall even if the weather is still warm.
After creating a strong cold brew coffee, you’ll need to create a homemade brown sugar syrup by heating brown sugar and water on the stove. Next, add your cold brew, syrup, milk and ice to create a tasty, chilled drink! Find the full recipe HERE.
Easy Chai Tea Latte
For anyone who prefers tea over coffee, I have the perfect recipe for you.
This chai tea latte is bound to add some warmth and coziness to your morning. The good thing is that it still has a little caffeine in it to help you get your day going. Check out the full recipe HERE.
Blended Coffee Frappe
In only 10 minutes, you can create this tasty blended frappe for two.
Just blend ice cubes, cooled espresso, milk, sugar and vanilla extract for a drink that’s sure to impress. You can also top it with caramel or chocolate drizzle for a little extra flavor. Interested? Take a look at the recipe HERE.
Cat Cora’s Whipped Coffee
Celebrity chef Cat Cora knows what she’s doing when it comes to whipped coffee. And if you haven’t tried this trendy drink, now’s your chance!
Create foam by whisking instant coffee, sugar and hot water together. Next, spoon it on the top of a glass of milk. It’s a must-try recipe and you can find it HERE!
Easy Homemade Earl Grey Tea Latte
Here’s another one if you’re looking for an alternative to your cup of morning joe.
With earl grey tea as the standout ingredient, you’ll still get that caffeine kick to start your day. Haven’t heard of this combo? It’s also called London Fog. But no matter the name, it’s a must-try if you’re not into the taste of coffee.
Find the recipe HERE.
Must-Have Coffee Accessories
You might have the recipes on hand, but you need a way to make them. And a way to drink them, of course!
I adore my Nespresso Aeroccino. In fact, I just made their limited-edition pumpkin spice blend this morning, and it made me want to dive headfirst into fall!
I haven’t tried this one myself, but one of my friends raves about this french press from Coffee Gator. It’s affordable, easy to use and will help you brew strong, tasty coffee in less than 10 minutes.
If you enjoy your coffee with a frothy whipped topping like I do, you’ll love this BonJour beverage whisk that makes foam out of milk in a matter of seconds. You didn’t think I’d leave you hanging without some fun and festive mugs, did you?
This pumpkin-shaped mug brings back memories of picking out pumpkins as a child. I love the stoneware… it’s festive and elegant at the same time!
I also love the look of this glass pumpkin mug. Great for hot cider!
And if you’re looking for a set, these gold and black houndstooth ceramic mugs double as decor… aren’t they just beautiful!?
However you choose to celebrate, I hope you find these recipes and coffee essentials helpful. Me? I think I’ll spend the day enjoying my cup of joe while watching the leaves change color.
From my home to yours,
Jill
