You really can’t go wrong with brownies. They’re simple, classic and I don’t think I’ve ever turned down a brownie when it’s offered to me.
Now, I’ve been making brownies for as long as I can remember, but when I looked at my recipe collection at justjill.com, I realized I’ve never posted mine until recently!
I have a bunch of other chocolate desserts like my fudgy chocolate sheet cake, my chocolate-lovers pie, my German chocolate caramel cake, and so many more. But there’s nothing quite like a brownie.
While you may have your own go-to recipe for homemade brownies, I thought I’d share my own so you can give it a try. Here you go!

Moist and rich, these brownies are a crowd-pleaser and super easy to make!
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup + 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs.
- Add cocoa, flour and salt and combine. Then, add vanilla and nuts (if including).
- Pour batter into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
I know I said you can’t go wrong with a brownie, but some recipes end up turning out dry and a little bland. So when I knew I wanted to share mine with you, I knew it had to be perfect!
