Similar to a good song or some festive decor, fragrance can completely change your mood.
Think about that feeling when you put on your prized perfume. Or that sense of relaxation and delight you get when you light a new candle. Purely enjoyable!
Since it’s National Fragrance Day, I wanted to share some of my favorite fragrances with all of you. So, get in tune with your senses and check out my favs below!

Favorite Fragrances I’m Using Right Now
Even when I don’t do my hair and makeup, I like to give myself a quick spritz of perfume or body spray. It makes me feel refreshed and ready to take on the day!
For years, I’ve been using the Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt cologne. It features earthy and woody notes and I love that it’s a little more sophisticated.
After falling head over heels for the Wood Sage and Sea Salt scent, I wasn’t hesitant to try the Wild Bluebell scent which is also from Jo Malone. To no surprise… I adore this scent as well!
It’s fresh and it features just a hint of florals.
You’ve heard me say it before, but I love the Fresh Cream scent by Philosophy. I use the spritz regularly, and I also like that this set includes the body soufflé too.
I also like the Philosophy Amazing Grace perfume. It smells clean and floral, and it showcases notes of bergamot, white musk, and lily of the valley.
Pure Grace is also a Philosophy scent I regularly use. It’s super clean and fresh—great for the warmer months when the air gets a bit sticky.
Other Perfumes and Personal Fragrance
Although I have a few go-to fragrances I’m using right now, there are others I turned to in the past.
Find them below, along with some of the perfumes and colognes that my family loves!
When I was young (think high school and college), I liked to wear Laura Ashley One. Then, when I got a little older, I turned to Tresor by Lancome.
This fragrance is a bit heavier. But I found that by using just a little bit and lathering lotion over it, the scent was more subtle and I could still get compliments!
For as long as I can remember, my mother has worn Beautiful by Estee Lauder. It’s a classic and in my opinion, it can be worn by women both younger and older.
My Father always wore Polo by Ralph Lauren. He would always keep it on hand and whenever I smell it, it makes me smile because I think of him 🙂
My son Trevor likes Ocean from Bath and Body Works. It’s a great intro fragrance for high schoolers. And I appreciate that he smells like this and not like dirty baseball clothes!
Megan from the Just Jill team told me about this brand called Dossier. They make affordable fragrances that mimic the scents of high-end brands. So, you can try multiple scents for the same price as one brand-name bottle!
Her favorite is Ambery Vanilla (inspired by YSL Black Opium)
Favorite Fragrances I Use in My Home
Fragrance goes above and beyond what I wear on my body. I love filling my home with wonderful scents that brighten my mood!
I might be a little biased, but I truly think the candles we have at the Just Jill Shop are some of the best out there. Not only are they made with 100 percent soy wax, but each candle is also individually hand-poured meaning it doesn’t sit on the shelf for weeks.
The candles are also made in the USA!
But when I’m out of the house or not wanting to burn a candle, I like using our wax melts instead.
Another way to quickly add some scent to your home is with our room sprays! It only takes two sprays to fill a room with fragrance. But each bottle contains approximately 800 sprays!
And when I’m cleaning, I like using Mrs. Meyer’s Products. They make the house smell good while I’m cleaning… so it’s a win-win!
One of my favorites is the Lemon Verbena Multi-Surfacce Cleaner.
I haven’t tried the Pura Home Fragrance Brand yet, but I’ve heard some good things about it. The kit above is a home diffuser that you can plug into your wall. It also features the Capri Blue Volcano scent which is one of my favs.
Oh… and if you like the Volcano scent too, our Just Jill “Home” candle is a must-try!
Thanks for taking a peek at my favorite fragrances. I know it can be hard to find a scent that fits your preferences and lifestyle, but I hope these recommendations help!
From my home to yours,
Jill
