If you’re looking for a flavorful appetizer that’s great for any occasion, these spinach balls are exactly what you need! They’re loaded with flavor (despite their small size), the perfect texture, and they never disappoint.
I first tried these spinach balls when one of my mom’s friends made them. She was a gourmet cook and caterer, but I was a bit hesitant… as any kid would be! Despite my weariness, the flavors and “fun” in every bite won me over. Immediate fan right here!
Take a look at how to make them below.

Spinach Balls
This spinach balls preparation is one of my family's favorite ways to eat vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2 (10-oz) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed
- 2 cups stuffing mix or fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 6 eggs
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Drain the spinach thoroughly and squeeze dry with paper towels.
- Combine the spinach, stuffing mix, Parmesan cheese, eggs, and softened butter into a mixing bowl. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and freeze for several hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°.
- Let the balls sit out about 15 minutes before baking. Place them on a baking sheet. (They should still be partially frozen.)
- Bake 10 minutes.
Packed with nutrient-dense spinach, this little appetizer is actually pretty healthy. The parmesan cheese adds a kick and the breadcrumbs really enhance the whole recipe—making them a total crowd-pleaser! Another great thing about them? You likely already have most of the ingredients in your kitchen.
