Transitioning from one season to the next can be more complicated than it looks. With the changing of the weather, it’s hard to determine what to wear and what to store away until the following year. But one thing’s for sure. When you’re ready to make the switch from summer to fall, you’ll want to add some cozy essentials to your wardrobe.
I love bringing out my light jackets to pair with soft scarves and sweaters. I also like swapping my nightgowns for plush robes and ultra-cozy loungewear. You can’t forget your home, either. Fall is a time for sherpa blankets, shaggy rugs, and knit throws that make your space feel like a warm cabin in the woods.
I’m excited to make the seasonal swap and if you are too, you can find some of my favorite cozy essentials for fall below.

Stylish and Comfortable Clothes for Fall
One of my favorite things to do during fall is strolling around my neighborhood to take in all of the colors of the changing leaves. But nothing is worse than shivering my way through a walk!
I found some cozy essentials are designed to keep you warm without sacrificing style.
If you live in a climate that doesn’t get too cold, this long layering duster may be a good choice. It features an open-front design that offers so much versatility!
This cardigan blends the best of a shawl and a sweater. It comes in a variety of neutral tones — making it easy to pair with accessories and jewelry.
I also like this Old Navy Sweater because it practically screams fall. The “sedimentary” color is versatile, and the turtleneck style adds dimension to any outfit.
I’ve been living in the Simply Noelle Perfect Wrap we carry in the Just Jill Shop. It’s so cozy and easy to pair with a variety of outfits. Just warm enough!
Plush and on-trend, this full-zip fleece jacket from Athleta looks super comfortable! I also appreciate that it’s more on the casual end (for the days when you want to wear leggings instead of jeans).
As a denim girl, I wanted to show you a denim jacket with a cold-weather twist. This one from Gap Factory is lined with comfy sherpa. That way you can stay warm while looking stylish.
If you’re looking for some cold-weather accessories for fall, a scarf is a great place to start! This fringe-trimmed scarf is vibrant and bound to upgrade a basic outfit.
However, if you’re more of an infinity scarf kind of gal, this knit-style option looks like it will pair well with your fall wardrobe.
Before you know it, you’ll need to bring out those gloves and mittens! This season, you can get the best of both with these alpaca wool gloves that transform into mittens when you flip over the top.
Plus, the open finger holes allow you to use your phone when wearing them.
Have you tried Bombas? I can’t tell you how warm these are… and though they look like any other pair of socks, they’re great for wearing under boots.
The wool keeps your feet ultra-warm and dry.
Loungewear and More For A Day Inside
When you’re hanging out around the home, cozy essentials are a must. Below, you can find everything from pajamas to slippers for those chilly days indoors.
If you’re looking for some new cold-weather pajamas that are ultra-soft to the touch, you can’t go wrong with the long-sleeve Gisele PJ Set from a brand called Eberjey.
But if you’d also like to wear your loungewear outside, the Cuddl Duds fleece jogger pants can transition from the couch to the grocery store.
If you’re trying to stay warm without totally changing up your wardrobe, you can always add a couple of pairs of fuzzy socks to your closet. And these ones are only $8 for a 2-pack set!
You can even wear them with these suede slippers from QVC. While they’re lined with super soft faux fur, they have a rubber bottom so you can wear them outside if need be.
I wasn’t going to leave you without a robe option! This one is called a “teddy bear robe” for a reason. It’s plush and soft just like a teddy bear! I can already see myself wearing it on those chilly winter days.
Cozy Essentials for Your Home
Being cozy goes far beyond what you wear. Sometimes, changing up your environment can be exactly what you need to relax at home!
I have a Barefoot Dreams blanket at home and while it’s a bit of an investment, I’ve owned it for years. It still looks just as good as when I first bought it!
This Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Throw Blanket comes in a few neutral colors that allow you to pair it with your current home decor.
I also like this knit throw because of the chunky texture. And how cute are the little pom poms on the end??
Did you know we carry throws in the Just Jill Shop? They’re lightweight but oh so comfortable. Hope you’ll bring one home!
Whether you live in a cold climate or you get really chilly inside your home, an electric heated blanket may be a good option.
My friend owns this throw from Sunbeam and raves about how cozy it is. She says it heats up in a matter of minutes, too!
It isn’t all about that cozy feeling on your skin. It’s also about the cozy feeling in the air! That’s why I love burning this candle duo that includes two fall scents — cinnamon vanilla and pumpkin spice.
You can opt for this fall-scented candle and diffuser duo instead!
Cozy home essentials don’t necessarily have to feel comfy. Instead, they can help you achieve coziness! Take these holiday mugs for example. Fill them with a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate and you’ll be well on your way to a relaxing day at home.
If it’s one of those days when you don’t want to leave your warm bed, you can rest assured that you don’t have to! Whether you’re working or online shopping, you can use your computer while lounging with this folding lap desk.
If you ask me, getting out of the shower when it’s cold outside is so much harder. But with this memory foam bath rug set, your feet will be warm and cozy the second you step out from under the water!
Even if your own wardrobe is packed with fall clothes, now is the perfect time to snag some holiday gifts for your loved ones. I’m sure these cozy essentials will put a smile on their face!
From my fall home to yours,
Jill
